Choosing the Right Pool Liner
Choosing the right pool liner can be difficult. With so many options for customization and so many factors to consider, the decision can be downright daunting.
Kayden Manufacturing is here to help you out.
We make vinyl pool liners with a standard thickness of 27 mil for pool walls, and a 20 mil or 27 mil option for pool floors.
What is the benefit of having your pool liner 27 mil thick on the walls and 20 mil thickness for the floor?
Given that the most common pool liner thickness is 20 mil, we offer customers a standard upgrade to 27 mil thick vinyl on the walls Here are the three top benefits of having thicker vinyl on the walls than on the floor:
- Using thicker vinyl for the walls allows the thinner bottom material of the floor to stretch.
- Overall, a thicker liner withstands UV rays longer than thinner liners. Also, a thicker liner will better withstand water conditions, leading to a longer lifespan.
- Thicker liners are more puncture-resistant. So, if Fido jumps in the pool and feels like trying to use the deep end to exit, there’s less of a chance his nails will damage the liner.
In summary, thicker liners outlast thinner liners. Liner thickness is especially important for the sides of a pool. That’s because the sides receive the most UV exposure and wear and tear from use.
